Frequently asked questions

Aluminium is significantly lighter than steel — typically around one third of the weight — making SANLUK aluminium access doors easier to handle during installation and reducing structural load on partition walls. Unlike steel, aluminium does not rust, so no protective coating is required for long-term corrosion resistance. This makes our doors especially well-suited to humid environments such as bathrooms, service shafts, and plant rooms.

SANLUK aluminium access doors are available with a natural mill finish, anodised coating, or white powder-coat as standard options. The smooth powder-coated surface can be overpainted with any RAL colour to match your interior scheme. Tileable or plaster-ready panel versions are also available, allowing the door to disappear completely into the wall finish.

Our access doors can be surface-mounted directly onto a wall or recessed flush into a wall opening for a concealed look. Both single-leaf and double-leaf configurations are available to suit different opening sizes. Doors are supplied with adjustable hinges for precise alignment after installation.

Yes — SANLUK aluminium access doors are fitted with a quarter-turn cam lock as standard, operable with a screwdriver or optional key cylinder. Additional locking options, including flush pull handles and padlock provisions, are available as accessories. For service areas requiring restricted access, we can supply versions with security locks on request.

SANLUK aluminium access doors are available in a wide range of standard sizes starting from 150 × 150 mm up to 600 × 900 mm and beyond. Non-standard dimensions can be manufactured to order with a typical lead time of 5–10 working days. Use the size selector on each product page or contact our sales team for custom quotations.
