SANLUK rectangular manhole covers are manufactured to EN 124 and are available in load classes A 15 (pedestrian and cycle paths), B 125 (car parks and footways), C 250 (kerbside areas), and D 400 (carriageways). SANLUK manhole covers are manufactured from marine-grade aluminium alloy, providing an excellent strength-to-weight ratio that makes them significantly easier to handle on site than cast-iron alternatives. The aluminium construction is inherently corrosion-resistant, requiring no painting or protective coating throughout its service life. Stainless steel fasteners and hinge pins are used throughout to eliminate any dissimilar-metal corrosion risk.

Yes — SANLUK recessed rectangular manhole covers feature a deep tray that can be filled with block paving, natural stone, concrete, asphalt, or resin-bound gravel to match the surrounding surface. The tray is sized to accommodate standard paving products, and the frame sits flush with the finished surface level. This allows the cover to integrate invisibly into driveways, plazas, and pedestrian areas.

Our sealed rectangular manhole covers are fitted with a continuous EPDM compression seal that creates an airtight and watertight joint when closed, preventing odours, gases, and groundwater from escaping through the frame joint. The sealed versions are tested to EN 1253 for water and gas tightness and are recommended for covers over foul-water, gas, and fuel installations. Non-sealed ventilated versions are also available where airflow to the void below is required.

All SANLUK rectangular manhole covers are available with a security lock as standard — a quarter-turn stainless steel lock operated with a dedicated T-bar key prevents unauthorised access and stops the cover being lifted accidentally by surface-water uplift pressure. Double-lock versions with two separate lock points are available for high-security utility applications. A tamper-evident security seal option is also offered for covers in restricted or public areas.
